#SayNoToRngGems

As many may have heard, gems are going to be introduced in MoP update, and from people that have already tried MoP on the PTS, we realized that the gems have the following properties.
  1. It is NOT tradeable
  2. Stat Value is RANDOMIZED
  3. Stat Value can NOT be rerolled
  4. Stat it gives are RANDOMIZED
  5. Stat once given can NOT be rerolled
  6. Power rank is calculated BASED ON the stat values

Let me share a small story with you, since I'm an old player that have played trove since the close beta.

Equipment players used to get, has a star (*, not the stars we know today), or two, or nothing, behind each stat, to indicate how good a gear is. With ** meaning that the stat on the gear is within 95% of its maximum possible value. Back at then, players are able to use the chaos forge to reroll all the stats and values to let players try to get better and better gear.

However, due to heavy complaints from the community, Trion decided to make a system so fair so that all of the player who worked hard and invested enough time into the game, would be able to reach to the top gear, without RNG dependent. It was peace, everyone was happy.

But as we all know, peace will never last. With the infamous Mantle of Power update, not only did they limit the player to get Empowered Gem, as well as the chances of Class Gem keys, but also did they screwed up the gem system, by making them rng heavy, and NOT able to change.

I was even being super optimistic and assume that the player can get a guaranteed Empowered Gem box out of every gem booster box, which we all know, THAT IS BASICALLY NOT POSSIBLE.
As I have suggested to Avarem, here are some chances I believe the community would accept more if they still insist to make gems rng dependent.
  • Stat value can be randomized
  • Stat can be randomized
  • Skill on Empowered Gem (where applicable) can be randomized

Though I'd believe that the community would be much more appreciate if the gem system is changed in line with the current equipment system.
  • All stat value should be the same, at the same rarity, same level, and same star.
  • All stats (except first) can be randomized
  • All gem related items are tradeable
