Some friendly notes for Trove Streamers and Videographers!

Hello all!

I know you don’t see me around Trove forums too often, but I wanted to come here to chat a bit about our Trove livestreaming/videographer program, part of the Trion Creators Program.

Most of you know that our Creators Program covers all of our games and allows us to offer support, advice, promotion, codes, and cool insights for the folks who work so hard to bring our games to the public on Twitch, YouTube, and beyond.

Trove provides the most livestreamers of ANY of our games, by far. We are absolutely thrilled to see so many of you bouncing around in-game and having fun with your fellow community members. It’s an absolute joy to work with our players to bring more fun to Trove for everyone! We are thrilled when channels grow with the game and we both follow along and join in when we can. THANK you, one and all.

Now the tough part:
We are very sad when things go wrong and very much regret that we have recently had to suspend a member from the Creators Program. We find this heartbreaking and do not take this sort of decision lightly; we reviewed the facts very carefully before taking this action. We are not going to get into details here, preferring to keep the discussion between the individual and ourselves. It is less important to discuss what caused this decision and more important for the everyone in our community to understand how to help us avoid ever having to do this again.

If you are accepted into the Creators Program, we expect you to abide by a few guidelines, as outlined in our terms of service, and to present yourself and your stream in a reasonable, respectful manner – after all, if you’re in our program, it means we have placed our official stamp of approval on your stream or videos! We have very few expectations, and they are common sense.

So here we go, some friendly suggestions from us to you:
  • Be respectful of other streamers. We’re all in this together and there’s no reason to attack other people. It only makes you look bad and makes everyone involved unhappy. If you’re better, just BE better and don’t worry about others (or bring the issue to our attention privately).
  • Don’t take your fellow players for granted. They are the people who make the game what it is, support us as developers, and give you an audience to stream to. Treat them well!
  • Being invited to participate in the Creator Program is a privilege, not a right. If you are not accepted yet, find out from Evan "Scapes" Berman, our Senior Live Media Manager what it takes to get there. We'll work with you as much as we can, and as time allows - we have only one guy on this full time and there are a LOT of you folks out there!
  • We’re only human here at Trion Worlds, and we want to help. Much like our forum guidelines state here, hurling insults, accusations and threats at staff is never ok, particularly for folks who are part of our honored Creators Program. We generally do not like to respond publicly to such things, but it’s clear when we have to sever ties with people that we feel they are no longer interested in working with us in a friendly, appropriate and supportive manner.
  • Don’t sell the codes we give you: they are solely intended to help you promote your channels while you play our games. Selling free codes is simply bad manners. They are intended to be shared freely with your audience. If you sell codes, you will be discovered and removed from the program.
  • If you have a concern or complaint about a content creator in any of our games, let us know about it privately by contacting our Senior Live Media Manager, who will look into it immediately. Bear in mind that we can only investigate what we can personally substantiate and the only actions we can take are with regard to our games, forums, and the Trion Creators Program. We will tell you that we are reviewing a complaint but please understand that we will not report back to you directly with regard to any discussions or actions taken as those are between our staff and the person involved.
  • If you need to report suspected criminal activity, know that we have no authority or ability to investigate it and you should contact your local law enforcement with any relevant evidence.
  • If you need to report activity that violates Twitch guidelines, please contact Twitch directly as we have no authority over their service.
All of this is a really long way to go about saying “be good to each other”.

We love our Creators Program members and we love working with you all. If you have any questions about the program or how to get involved, please direct message @Scapes on Twitter! He is our Senior Live Media Manager and has all the information to help you decide if you are a good candidate for the Trion Creators Program.

Again, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Yer auld Dwarf,
Brasse
