A lot of people can agree that Trove is lacking when it comes to releasing content that really feels new. True, we now have more Uber levels for worlds, but playing the same content with bigger numbers is still playing the same content. Adding special challenges to the different biomes would give more things to do overall, and would help to give each biome more of a unique flavor. These are some ideas I had of things that could spawn and occur outside of normal dungeons:
- Medieval Highlands: Dueling. Dueling arenas would appear randomly in the biome, and would have a flag in the middle. Activating the flag would spawn a spectral NPC of a random player class to battle the player.
- Desert Frontier: Bounty Hunting. After finding and activating a bounty board, players would be pointed in the direction of a targeted miniboss somewhere nearby. Defeat the miniboss and it will be knocked out. Mount up and ride over the defeated enemy to tether to them and drag them back to the board for your rewards.
- Candoria: Marshmallow Maw. A giant mouth with marshmallow teeth, these strange creatures feed on other denizens of Candoria. Activate the Maw to spawn waves of enemies, which drop candy when defeated. Pick up the candy and throw it into the Maw to feed it. After sating the Maw's hunger, it will spit up your rewards.
- Jurassic Jungle: Specimen Hunting. Finding a Dinosaur track would trigger this event. Upon activating the track, players would see generally which direction to find the next track, and must run to find each track in the series, before finally finding a powerful dinosaur to defeat for their rewards.
- Neon City: Ring Racing. A simple time trial run, players would activate a starting post and be given a series of rings to run through within a time limit before being given their rewards
