Over the last few weeks I have played Trove, I have noticed a few things. There are a lot of things I like about it, but there are also a lot of things I dislike as well.
Likes:
-Classes are diverse, and can switch at any time.
-Worlds are usually plentiful and regenerate.
-Resources can be gathered by yourself, but are also given to those around you.
-Combat system is engaging and keeps you entertained during the fights.
-Lots of cool freebies, shop usually always has a free something to nab.
-Controls are easy and smooth.
-Fun to play with friends
Dislikes:
-Servers are often very laggy, making any ranged class, and sometimes melee classes, and the game, unplayable.
-Crafting system is pretty meh. Very boring, not many options other than mounts, wings and rings.
-World-Edit, or building mode, is pretty clunky and frustrating.
-Teraforming is a nightmare and poorly implemented.
-You literally have to unlock or find recipes for EVERYthing...
-Cannot make weapons or gear other than rings.
-Upgrading gear is understandably grindy, but also to the point of boring.
-Content is lacking, I understand the lower levels of games are designed to teach players how to play said game, but this goes far beyond that. It is VERY grindy and the reward is very little.
-Content in the Uber levels, unless you are extremely on point, with no lag, must be completed with a tank or another person.
-Difficulty curve and power rank suggestions for portals are vastly innaccurate. Any sole player entering a portal at the recommended 900, is going to die if they are by themselves.
-Game lacks content. From the novice portal, to at least Uber 7, all you are doing is grinding out gem dust and breaking down the same quality gear you got in Uber 2 and 3 for flux to buy stuff to try and upgrade gear, which with each level requires vastly more, and more and more, pushing into days of grinding, which, isnt fun.
