Will update this if more info becomes available. If you have another idea of how it could work, speak up!

People seem to have an issue with understanding how to get Windows on their Mac, so here is a little guide. This is possible methods to use, you need to figure out what will work for you.
If you have any questions please refer to Google, I only made this to help people know where to look first. I own Windows so I don't use any of these methods nor do I want to troubleshoot any of them with you. There is also a chance that Ignitas has better methods, so I recommend contacting him and asking if you feel inspired to do so.

First thing to know is if you have a Mac, you typically need Windows to Extract the files to Mod them. This is because you need to run a .bat file (Windows Batch Scripting) that Ignitas and Etaew both separately wrote that provides this and does not run naively on macOS. It is also currently unknown if the commands Trion provides that are run in the .bat files will work in a Mac terminal/script at all (at minimum would have to be re-written).

Method 1: WINE

In theory you could try Wine on your Mac to run a .bat file. No one in this community has tried this yet. This was recommended by Milambit (This method is currently untested).

Method 2: Boot Camp

If you own a Mac, Apple invests their own resources to allow you to install Windows in your computer using a system called Boot Camp. They create their own drivers and special support for it. This works well, but a VM like Parrallels or VMware Fusion is far easier to use.
This would require you to Install Trove inside the Windows install, extract or convert the files you need, then do the rest of your work back in your Mac if you wanted.

Method 3: VM (Virtual Manager)

Parrallels or VMware Fusion. They cost money but function very well, allowing you to run Windows while inside macOS seamlessly. A very worthwhile investment.
VirtualBox. This program is free and might be harder to set up and slower to use, but for the goals of just running .bat files it might be perfect.
This would require you to Install Trove inside the Windows install, extract or convert the files you need, then do the rest of your work back in your Mac if you wanted.

Note: There is also the issue of other .bat files for modding. Besides using a bat file to extract, there are other files that convert .QB files to .blueprint as well as turn .blueprints back into .QB files. While someone may figure out how to extract files on a Mac, performing these other operations may be impossible. It is recommended you figure out a real way to run Windows for modding purposes, for extraction and conversion. The devs would need to offer support for Mac modding to change this, currently they only support game play on a Mac.

Regarding buying Windows: If you are going to only be using it temporarily you can either just install a retail version of Windows without a key in a VM and use it until it forces activation, then reinstall. Or use a VL copy of Windows and install it using the Microsoft Toolkit. VL copies of Windows you can find on torrent sites. If you have questions or issues with this you are on your own, I am not here to find you copy of Windows. If you can afford it I recommend buying Windows 10. if you are a student you can usually get a copy free through your school of Windows 7 or 8.1.
