The Dracolyte needs a Change
I've been lurking around the forums and the dracolyte seems a warm topic where people cry for a buff but decent arguments come down and the crys become purrs.
I intend to list arguments to ask why the dracolyte needs a change.
Overall If you build it right he's uninteresting, boring and gameplay boils down to
M1,M2 a few times, Ability 1 when you feel like it then ability 2 when you don't want die. (If you have prowling shadow)
There are way more interesting and fun classes to play but lets look at both sides. Tank and AoE
1. Argument - The Tank
If you didn't know already, the dracolyte isn't a big scary damage dealer that will clear everything quickly. He is a fat tank that Does well in AoE Provided you use prowling shadow. This was Ok as the candybarbarian was a better tank/damage/support (CB is still better now) than the dracolyte. But a change of gameplay is nice. However as soon as the rev came out "Taunting" was introduced and the dracolyte went back to as good as the knight and the CB exelled elsewhere.
After Mantle of (Grinding) Power came out The candybarbarian finally got "Taunt" and so he become a viable tank. The dracolyte Though felt a bit off.
After each Burnt offering there is a chance to summon a small tiny dragon.
This seems good on paper but they are going against the tank idea and more into a damage dealer perspective. (more on this later)
After all as a tank you want to keep agro not shift it away.
Overall if you want to play a decent tank go CB or Rev (Maybe TR if you want)
OR
Change his passive (Completely situational, Not helpful) to cause taunt.
His next class gem makes his M1 Apply Taunt after a few hits (Taken idea. No credit)
2. Argument - The AoE damage.
If you want play the dracolyte for damage Before the rev, many would scoff and say play LL or Boomer as they deal more damage. This sadly carries on as his damage is FAR outmatched by most classes.
His abilities Are more suited to being a tank. His M2 is about dealing damage then doing a short burst of damage after taking damage for the team. His Alt reduces damage by 50% Outright and helps a ton. His passive is Cra- I mean Situational and doesn't really help al that much. (Unless you in the volcanic peaks. Fire gem world or the random ST weekly)
His Class gem Is a temperamental way of dealing damage. Not as reliable as Some of the other class gems.
If you want Do damage. For now play Boomer. SH with class gem Or Candybarbarian (If you didn't guess CB is really good in MOST situations) or for AoE the chloromancer does a better job.
Or
Change how his damage is dealt and Make him less fat.
Change the passive to slowly Deal more damage the longer he holds his M1.
I do like the dracolyte class, His identity is really cool - After the sundering the Dracoytes turn to dark Ideals to protect their home and become Lone travelers.
But his gameplay doesn't reflect that. Kind of boring if you ever tried to focus full tank or Pin (Hint you don't die but the boss does REALLY slowly)
That's all I have to say. I would love to hear what you think (SloWolfie).
I know I can be wrong at times so I want to hear your opinion
