My forum friends, and players I know in the game, those in VoxelBusters, INfluence, and Shadow Crown,0today I am here to inform you of an event. An event that is taking place because I am officially done with Trove. As such, I wanted to throw a Pinata Party with all my wealth for the players of the game. Said party will take place between the three club worlds listed, and will be club phoned, so if you want to guarantee a spot, join before I start. I intend to host said event on this Friday after I get back from work, at roughly Midnight CST or 5AM GMT. We're talking a pinata party that will be well over 2k, if not 3k by the event date. (roughlt 5mil flux as pinatas flow back into the market, I've emptied it twice so far).
As far as to why I am quitting, it comes down to several factors.
I no longer have the time, energy or most importantly DESIRE to participate in the unrewarding grindfest this game has become. Back when I started this game in the middle of closed beta (september of 2014) it was a very casual experience. It was fun, and social, and gave me something to do in my free time. It certainly wasn't a perfect game, but it was in beta and being worked on. Now, the game is headed in the same direction all of Trion's games seem to go from reading reviews, and I can no longer support it. The game is unrewarding, and wastes your time when you put in effort. The game still has bugs and issues we had back in beta, and things that were promised to be implemented almost a year ago now haven't been (looking at you ringforging update). Instead of listening to the player base and making changes according to what they would like to see, they do whatever they think will make the most money. While that is fine from a business perspective, the fact that you are losing long time players and not gaining players by punishing newcomers. Nobody asked for more RNG. We had to beg you to remove some of it from gear. I don't know who likes this idea, and I haven't heard anyone who was happy with how things were implemented. Oh well.
I hope this is a lesson to Trion. You are losing a customer who has spent $5650 on a game in a year and three quarters because they thought it was worth supporting. If I had known this is where the game was going when I started playing, I wouldn't have wasted it.
While I do regret supporting this company, I do not regret my time with all of you lovely people over the course of this time. I made many friends, and if anyone would like to play other games with me, my Steam ID is XanedSiarcin. Feel free to add me.
